Pioneer have just announced the brand new Pioneer XDJ-Aero which is an industry first for DJs. Forget about laptops connected to controllers, forget about usb sticks or CDJs. The XDJ Aero will allow the DJ to play and control their music wirelessly from their smartphones and tables using the Rekord Box mobile app. You’ll be able to wirelessly connect the XDJ-Aero to your device with no cables of other network needed. Plus there is the option to play from standard USB devices and also to use it as a midi controller.
This controller is rather similar to Stantons SCS.4DJ giving you an all in one device without the need for a laptop to get your music from. The the unit features a standalone two channel mixer, a wav file recording feature, two automatic mixing functions and onboard effects.

Sample Launch: Four built in sounds, Scratch, Horn, Siren and Laser.
Sound Color filter as seen most recently on higher end DJM Mixers.
Beat Effect: Four additional effects including trans, flanger, echo and roll.
Jog Drum: Scratch, launch and manipulate samples by simply turning or tapping the jog platter.
One of the most interesting features is the audience can even get involved by sending tracks from their own smartphones or tables to create an interactive experience. No more requests from clubbers, they can be in control.
The XDJ-AERO also functions as a 24-bit audio interface, MIDI controller for Traktor and HID controller for Virtual DJ software. And it can be used as a stand-alone mixer when connected to CDJs and turntables.

The XDJ-Aero is light weight and is the worlds thinnest combined player and mixer at just 45mm thick. We can’t wait to get our hands on one and as soon as we do you’ll be the first to hear about it.
